When We Love | Helping the Homeless

We're so appreciative of those who have a heart for helping the homeless in Tarrant County. You may have even given tangible items like socks or hygiene supplies because of your care and compassion.

While these donations are meaningful, they only provide temporary comfort.

We want to do more.

“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.” - Psalm 82:3

At When We Love, we believe we can make a more significant difference by equipping people to beat homelessness.

Our Founder

Gary Wilkerson has experienced the excruciating side of homelessness. Two teenage daughters became addicted to drugs, and both became homeless. One recently lost her life. The other remains homeless and stuck in addiction to this day.

While addiction is rarely the root cause, Gary knows firsthand the suffocating effects of hopelessness and how impossible it feels to share help. Now he's on a mission to help others as much as possible.

Gary is driven by the love of Christ to defend the weak and uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed (Psalm 82:3). Our God is full of compassion, and it has become Gary's life work to fulfill the law of Christ by bearing one another's burdens.

Our resources and support help the homeless regain their self-worth and successfully function in society. Since 2009, we've been dedicated to serving the homeless and have helped countless people get back on their feet and find permanent housing.

But we can't do it alone. We need your help. By getting involved, you can make a significant impact on the lives of those who are struggling to survive. Join us in our mission to make homelessness a temporary stop on their life journey.

Let's work together to restore dignity, self-respect, and permanent housing to the homeless in our community.
